Holiday Advertisements

So how many Holidays do we have?

It's one thing to recognize a historical event that took place, like when Christopher Columbus found America (Columbus Day), but it's another thing, to try and create a Holiday just for traffic and revenue (Black Friday).

Seriously, this isn't even a Holiday. It's just another way to get people to trample over everyone when the doors open. Seriously though, you could walk away with some great deals, but this is advertising at its best; through advertising, consumers are willing to wait in hour long lines and extreme weather for a deal. Some people are so easily influenced that they suit up for war while dodging and trampling over other Christmas shoppers. It wasn't that bad this year though, but then again, I don't really watch the news. So if you're in the Christmas spirit, then I encourage you to jump on all the great deals that your local retailers are promoting. I'm sure that a good riot would be awesome. As for me, I'll be sipping on hot chocolate with the kids because I really don't care about a great deal. I already have the gifts wrapped up and I didn't have to bust a few lips to do it. A great deal will not influence me to buy a product; I buy for the look of joy on my child’s face. Money and its entire promotions means nothing compared to priceless moments. Some things in life are not meant to put a price tag on. So instead of rushing for the best deal, I encourage all of you to stop rushing and start living. Christmas is the opportunity for retailers to place a price tag on your loved ones. Instead, enjoy the moments with your loved ones because Christmas is about giving your time to love and appreciate others. Holiday Advertisements are created to influence your buying behaviors. The retailer will say that the big red bow on a white SUV would make the perfect Christmas gift for your wife or she won't love you. I say, that's cool. The day she buys me a yacht will be the day I invest in a SUV. Sorry, Honey; I guess the minivan will have to do and I guess I'll have to settle for a canoe.

Cable TV Advertising

Cable TV Advertising

Who said that the internet would take over? Using television as a channel to distribute advertisements are far more effective in terms of reach and frequency; compared to print ads, Cable TV Advertising is able to observe the channels and time of day, viewers are tuned in to a program. (Neilson Box) Cable TV Advertising is, also, another way to niche your Target Audience; a toy product would be advertised on a child's program and a new cooking recipe would be advertised on a home cooking program. Cable TV Advertising provides the niche needed to reach a specific target audience. Cable TV Advertising is not Network TV Advertising; Network TV Advertising is National Advertising with all the basic and free channels. Cable TV Advertising is all the ads you would see on TBS, ESPN, TNT, MTV, etc... Cable TV Advertising, also allows you to place ads based on Geographic’s, called Spot TV Advertising. Any type of TV Advertising is a 'push' method, whereas, Internet Advertising is more of a 'pull' method; the audience has, at least, an idea of what they are looking for, therefore, creating a need for specific information. (Pull Company for Information) A person, watching Cable TV, sees a commercial for Wal-Mart, this is 'push'(The Company Is Pushing Information To The Viewer) In any case, the intention and purpose of Cable TV Advertising is to generate Traffic and Revenue If you think you can't afford to advertise on television, think again--and look into this less-expensive TV ad option

Importance Of Advertising

Importance of Advertising

What generates traffic and revenue? Answer- Advertising will generate exposure, therefore, creating awareness. Advertising is much more than just creating billboards or any other kind of print advertisement. It is easy to stereotype an artist as a painter. As an Artist, however, my perspective of advertising is when one can create an effective campaign while using specific elements in order to effectively generate traffic and revenue. My paint brush is my laptop and my inspiration is my environment, filled with entrepreneurs, all willing and ready to establish a name for themselves. I am the messenger and the visionary; advertising is art. Without art, there would be no vision. Art separates the good, the bad, and the amazing. A work of art is always open to different interpretations; this rule applies to advertising. There are many ways to approach a market, the question to ask yourself is, 'How will your company be recognized within the market and within the community?' The importance of advertising is emphasized so that one may understand the process of generating traffic and revenue. The world of advertising goes beyond just making print ads; advertising sells an idea as well as effectively distributing that message in order to generate a response. In a nutshell; Advertising gets a brand or company from point A and takes them to point B. Point A- Business Owner-Knows how to run a business, but has NO IDEA HOW TO GENERATE TRAFFIC AND REVENUE. Point B- Business Owner- Getting Paid due to advertising, therefore, creating awareness and ultimately, generating exposure and traffic; revenue can only be established after creating exposure.      Here's how it works...
When advertising a business, the very first step is to create a creative brief after interviewing the client. Then the promotional mix is executed resulting in a form of measurement and evaluation.

Guerilla Advertising

No, Guerilla Advertising is not trying to sell a Guerilla.

So, what is Guerilla Advertising?

Guerilla Advertising is the process of exposing a brand or message in order to go viral and to create a massive response, usually without any interest to any company or government restrictions, permits, or consent. For example, when someone spray paints their name on private property, this is guerilla advertising; the person that spray painted his name on private property, did not pay for the exposure of his name, nor did he receive permission, but by the time the clean-up crew actually painted over the spray paint, an audience of (x) amount of people, have already been exposed to the name spray painted on private property. So, I'll be spray painting my name across the neighborhoods of the HR Representatives of high paying PR firms. I want it to sound familiar when my resume shows up on their desk. Chris Samaniego...why does that name sound so familiar? Oh yeah, because it was spray painted on my garage door. (That’s a joke) =) ha ha.

Anyways, this is only one form of Guerilla Advertising. Another, would be to create an electronic print ad using Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc., then export the file so that it fits all formats for mobile devices; the final step would be to share the ad via Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.

Advertisements For Teenagers

What's up with all the twelve year old girls, looking like they're twenty?

Is it the poor judgment decisions made by our young teen adolescents? Or is this provocative attire and lifestyle, specifically targeted to our young teens?

Well, let's find out!

After going to several websites like Abercrombie, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Gilly Hicks, Arrie and American Eagle, I've noticed that the trend for adolescents is that of provocative attire. These companies are not advertising to adults, which instead, appeals to a much younger crowd; these companies are placing provocative miniskirts and tops on pre-teens when advertising their clothing line. At this rate, don't be surprised when your daughter starts to ask for birth control by the ninth grade.

Every woman and little girl should not feel the need to show skin, in order to please others.

Any object, form, or shape may resemble a pretty girl, but it is the character, morals, and values that mold her into a beautiful lady; if he doesn't agree, then he doesn't deserve you!

So, why the harsh criticism? Well, these advertisements are everywhere and these companies are the ones that create the latest and newest trends. So I encourage everyone to not be influenced, just be you. =) These companies don't care about moral, values, or character; these companies are only interested in generating revenue.

Free Local Advertisements

Who doesn't love a free paper full of local advertisements? The San Antonio Current is free to the public, so I decided to browse through the advertisements. I noticed that the S.A Current is targeted to an audience eight-teen and older based on the nature of some of the ads; nightlife information as well as personal ads, turned free local advertisements, into Jr. Craigslist.

Many businesses use this channel to distribute local print advertising for an affordable price, and to a greater audience.

The disadvantage to using this channel is that, the S.A. Current isn't targeted to a specific audience; people, now have the option to browse the web for almost about anything you want.

However, the San Antonio Current, provides exposure, whereas, web searches are based on key words and phrases.
